Life is Easy

You know those paintings that seem simple from far away and then the closer you get to them, the more detail you’re able to see? Well, life is a lot like that. When you look at someone’s life from afar, or even at your own when looking into the past, it can seem like everything happens and eventually works out without a whole lot of effort. It can seem that some people rise quickly to the top while you struggle to hold on or that times were easier “back in the old days.”

Another saying that is definitely true is that ‘the Devil is in the details.” and this is something that could apply to this design by Jill Hendrickson as well. There is so much to enjoy out of life but if you let the negative and all of the different elements on your to-do list pile up then you could miss out on those things that make life feel easy and worth the struggle. Remember to see the bigger picture when you start to get trapped in one moment.

What do you think of this design?  What images and thoughts does it conjure up in you and how does it help show the world who you are?  Add to the conversation by commenting below.

With all the incorporated text, it feels like an advertisement for an event of some kind.
Even so, it is not unappealing to the eye. It might find a home in a relaxed commercial environment most easily like a coffee shop. But if one were to take an interest it is possible to see a fair amount of skill in the execution.

The way this painting looks to me is that it’s someone doodle. It’s cool though that when you get closer to it, you can see a bunch of hidden things. My favorite part is the moon in the left hand bottom corner.

I feel like the title of this is ironic. Like the artist doesn’t think life is easy at all. I get that from all the things that are packed into this picture. It feels out of control, like living and life are a big jumble, and they might be pretty, but they’re anything but easy.

This drawing is chaotic and clustered, so it’s kind of frantic to look at. However, I believe that was the artist’s intent in order to convey the messy nature of life. If you look closely you can see what appears to be a maze within the flower and the puddle around the woman’s face.
