Labeling can be useful, but it can also be incredibly harmful. It forces people into narrow compartments and says, “this one thing is all that you are.” There’s a reason we sometimes use the phrase “branding” someone a coward or slut.

An image in the vein of those waste-up nudes you see on Facebook with harsh things written on the model’s skin to suggest that the opinions of others are sticking to them and it’s super sad because they are not rubber, but glue. It’s a bit sanctimonious. But the eyes on the female figure are not bad.

This is a piece with a seriously important message. Most people know what it’s like to feel bullied. We have to teach our children to care for and respect others. I’m glad artist are doing important work like this one.

I don’t get why people bully. They point out stupid things that either aren’t true or are things the other people can’t help. So why do it at all? These are the things I’ve heard people say.
The picture is definitely true. It makes you feel naked and like you can’t speak for yourself. There’s so much more to everybody than labels.
