The Beauty of the Storm

There is beauty in every piece of life, even when we can't always see or feel it. The next time you get rained on, dance! The next time you do something that could be viewed as failure, allow it to influence you to become a more interesting and well-balanced person and open you up to new opportunities on the horizon. When you need a little reminder that we decide how we perceive the world, focus on this design by Spanish artist Encarna Dorado. Life is good if you know how to put on your rose-colored glasses and see it that way.

What do you think of this design?  What images and thoughts does it conjure up in you and how does it help show the world who you are?  Add to the conversation by commenting below.

It’s hard to say how this image was rendered, paint, or pasting images into a collage. But it has a pleasing effect- a sort of soft and friendly- almost funny- kind of cartoony feel. The rain almost seems to be made of whipped cream of foam and the woman’s expression is playful. I’d like to see this in a decorative towel.

This image does reflect how perception dictates our reality. Often clouds and rain serve as bad omens or symbols of negativity. However, the rain is also responsible for sustaining plant life (as seen in the panels of the umbrella). The cheerful colors combat the darkness of the storm and serve as a reminder that both dark and light, good and bad must coexist. It’s only a matter of which side of a situation we choose to focus on.

She doesn’t even care that her umbrella is blowing away.
I want this kind of carefree attitude.
When I think about it, I realize it doesn’t matter if my hair and clothes get wet sometimes.
Why should we hide from the elements?
We’re all part of the world together.
