Taking Flight

You are always the star of your own show but sometimes you might need a reminder. This design, created by Spanish artist Encarna Dorado, is a tribute to the fact that you always have the power to be great and achieve amazing things, even if you're not currently leading the pack or even following your own dreams. Sometimes you can make the most impact or serve your own values and goals better by stepping out of the limelight and being one of the team. There are so many different ways to live your amazing life and it is always yours to choose where you're going to go with it.

This is such an ironic title considering that no one in this picture is flying. Instead, they’re all pretending to fly.

The colors in this are very nice. The dreamlike image of a child on a train using another child as a kite is pretty compelling. The tracks almost look like a clipped in photo but then we see they are actually rather well rendered in paint or ink. This would look great as a poster. If it were wider, it would be better. A dreamy, dark blue image like this, you want printed like a landscape.

This looks like a collage or a mixed media piece, and has a folksy aura to it. I’m not particularly fond of the floating, iridescent child though – he seems isolated and fearful. Ironically, following your dreams can be lonely and scary if you are taking big risks or if others don’t support you.
